Phoenix International Raceway

Last weekend I went on a road trip to Phoenix for the Nascar race. I know, I am lame and I like Nascar. Well, Jenny was supposed to go with me and due to a job obligation could not come. It worked out and I ended up taking my cousin Emily.

The drop off. Emily is only fifteen so her mom dropped her off to me at McDonald's halfway between her house and my parents.

The journey begins. This is Emily.

Scenery

Welcome to

Arizona Emily had never eaten at a Hard Rock and since it was walking distance from our hotel we had dinner there

Getting ready for race day

We found the car

A reason to come back

The guy in the really tight shirt in the middle thought we were taking his picture. He figured out we had never been to a waffle house which was made more obvious when we had to ask where the door is.

PIR

We had really great seats just after the stop/finish line. Thanks to Sea Watch International (aka the family company of the number 1 car driver Martin Truex Jr)

Dale Jr.

Jeff Gordon (I really wanted him to win)

Forgot the camera was on zoom

My shoe was untied so Emily helped me out

Emily is growing up! It's so weird to see her look so mature.

There's nothing like going to a NASCAR race, is there? I went to PIR a few years ago, it was incredible. I'm glad to hear that you are a Hendrick family :) Tricia is a JJ fan, so she's been gloating lately! Cool pics, thanks for sending me your blog link.
